Terms & Conditions

The following terms and conditions outline the policies and regulations that govern the relationship between AND, Sri Lanka's premier Academy of Art & Design, and its students. These terms and conditions cover a range of topics, including payment deadlines, attendance requirements, and general conduct expectations. By enrolling in any program at AND, students agree to comply with these terms and conditions. It is important that students read and understand these policies, as they will be held accountable for any violations. Overall Terms


  1. Once the student had paid their registration fee, they are supposed to pay first payment upon registration before the orientation day.
  2. A student could pay their balance payment with installments. With a relevant AND officer you can arrange your installment plan.
  3. Any payments not made by the due date will incur a late payment penalty of 1% (of the course fee), per week.
  4. If a student fails a unit in a particular semester that unit can be repeated in the following semester, and is required to pay the full unit fee.
  5. No refunds are given after the closing dates of the semester. If a student wish to withdraw from a semester. Please inform the student records department/Student counselor before the closing date.

General Conditions


  1. Local and international students are required to attend all classes and maintain 70% attendance in which they are timetabled and undertake all tests and examinations during a course and abide by all rules and regulations of the Institute that are in force at any time.
  2. AND may by written notice vary conditions of enrolment as may be necessary to comply with any law, regulation or amendment thereof, of Sri Lanka.
  3. In the event of circumstances requiring urgent medical care where it is not possible to contact the parent/guardian, AND is authorized as a matter of urgency to seek and provide appropriate medical care.
  4. Smoking, Using drugs or any other drugs are prohibited in the institute.
  5. Students must formally advise AND if they are unable to commence their studies until a subsequent semester. AND will hold the fees paid until commencement without levying a penalty.
  6. During the lectures students are not allowed to break the rules of the institute

 

Resubmission Policy


The student completes a Assessment RESIT/RESUBMISSION form application issued by the academic coordinator. The student must complete an application form ( request from the academic coordinator) and submit it to the faculty within 1 calendar week after being advised of either non-submission or notification of a failed grade. TEST/EXAMS and PRACTICAL Assessment/Exams are one-off events and cannot be resubmitted. A student may apply to RESIT a Test/Exam or Practical Assessment within 1 Calendar week of either non-attendance; or notification of failed grade. The student must provide authorised evidence to support the application for an Assessment RESIT/RESUBMISSION. That is, evidence of extenuating circumstances must be attached to the form to demonstrate eligibility for a RESIT/RESUBMISSION. Include any assessment material completed so far. All Applications for assessment RESIT/RESUBMISSION are processed by faculty support and considered by the education sub-committee for approval. Approval is not guaranteed, and incomplete applications will automatically be declined. Failure to apply for assessment RESIT/RESUBMISSION may result in failing the course. A maximum of
50% grade is awarded for RESIT/RESUMISSION. Fees: There is a charge for all RESIT/RESUBMISSION regardless of the circumstance. One form and one fee are payable per assessment (See fees table). This fee must be paid before your application will be processed. Payment may be made at reception or online. Proof of payment must be attached to the application (i.e. a receipt from reception or a printout confirmation of payment as evidence of
payment). Enter your student ID, Course code and RESIT in the account details section. This fee covers additional assessment administration and assessors.
